Wolverine: Weapon X
Wolverine: Weapon X TP MARVEL COMICS
PRESENTS #72-84.
Wolverine: Weapon X #72
Accidentally missed #72 and #73 and read them after #82. The way the past and present is interwoven is just beautiful.
Wolverine: Weapon X #73
Man I need a healing factor like that.
Wolverine: Weapon X #74
Cool issue, beautifully depicting the torture and lonely feeling of being Logan as well as presenting his bestial nature.
Wolverine: Weapon X #75
Sad thought that the Weapon X program didn’t turn him into a monster they’re just directing his tendencies for him to become a weapon.
Wolverine: Weapon X #76
Small moment that meant a lot was the embarrassment of him being this controlling advisor while not having the machine to control Logan on. The grandiosity of these pitiful people. Also loving the fact that so far to us Logan is mindless. We have no idea what he’s thinking or fully experiencing. Until the end of this issue, that’s when we see how just his fight response is enough to scare the professor into a state of wanting him dead instead of regaining that position of dominance. Really shows the nature of the people we’re dealing with.
Wolverine: Weapon X #77
Logan reacting not out of bloodlust but pain…Brutal issue. It’s sad how many qualities are being forced onto him as he can’t do anything other than be reactive to situations.
Wolverine: Weapon X #78
2026 reference but Logan is really abuse goblin. Wait that’s so accurate. It’s powerful seeing Logan be so naturalistic, not as a beast, but as someone receiving outside input and then called a monster for it. Meanwhile the humans treat him like a puppet and show off their frail egos. A crazy dynamic.
Wolverine: Weapon X #79
It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step. They have a full on helmet to control Logan where he can’t even see for himself. They’re really trying to play God. And of course, it ends with them having no control.
Wolverine: Weapon X #80
Trying to corner a so called animal smh. It’s still adds such a layer of depth seeing the narrative from the perspective of the project runners.
Wolverine: Weapon X #81
These final pages have been so perfectly done.
Wolverine: Weapon X #82
The Professor is so awful lol.
Wolverine: Weapon X #83
An animal that shows mercy versus a human that chooses to be cruel. It’s like the Gon and Meurem humanity switch.
Wolverine: Weapon X #84
Wow. That fake death twist was so incredibly executed. I thought the Siberian tiger fight was a flashback or metaphor of sorts. Logan’s fear of not being a human with all he went through makes him being a mutant so much sadder. The Logan running scene was also so incredible. It showed how deep seated his fight against wanting to be an animal and seen as an animal is. The beast is both part of him and something he runs from so it doesn’t brush him. That informs a lot about the character. This was a great story and character study because every action Logan takes moving forward can be explained by these events. The vignette style was compelling though the issues were short and very like could have expanded on some subjects, though they were still well written. Also just some absolutely excellent art, frantic enough to capture the animal aspect of the story, while grounded enough to show the somberness of the humanity within there. A good, important book.
