Avengers: The Origin

 Issue #1

Jack and Stan cameo? I'm a sucker for the past being (re)written in the present. Cool viewing the characters from a certain new perspective after they've changed in the years since and the lore of the universe has grown. Cool references from specific comics in the time here too.

Issue #2

Not liking the art. It's not doing a good job at conveying motion.

Issue #3

Tony really didn't gaf about his secret identity.

Issue #4

This didn't add as much as I hoped. Just a pretty boring rehashing of the past.

Issue #5

I must have missed where Janet coined them the Avengers here. Weird that they took away from her moment. Anyway, boring.

X-Men vs The Brood

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
