Bratpack/Maximortal Super Special #1

This is kinda dissimilar to Bratpack and kinda dissimilar to The Maximortal. The end result shrug. Not compelling. I don't think the grandiosity and the transformation of reality worked here, especially because of how drastic of a shift this presentation is from Bratpack. This sort of rewriting, or at least, reframing of the ending, was eh.

This issue of the special really fell flat for me. I think it's because of how into the world of The Maximortal we're getting into, when that was just a side note in his comics. It was the least interesting part about those comics, and it is now the least interesting part of this special.

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
