Venom: The Mace Issue #1

Love Liam Sharp. His art is very adaptable, very 90s here. I like Venom protecting the locals, but the ninja assassin stuff is where the story starts to lose me. It doesn't help that the last portion of the issue has a conflict that can be stopped by an easily cleared misunderstanding.

Venom: The Mace Issue #2 

This was a really boring conflict with both sides written so one-dimensionally. We barely got to see things from Mace's POV or look at his motives. It all feels so useless.

Venom: The Mace Issue #3

This was only three issues and felt so repetitive and boring. Did not have a fun time with this.

X-Men vs The Brood

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
