The Sandman Special (1991)

Wow. I like seeing Dream before his major change. Such a cold ending that he walks away from Orpheus without looking back, I love it. Gaiman does such an amazing job shaping his own mythology using other myths and tying the two together so seamlessly. Great special.

X-Men vs The Brood

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
