Superman: Strength

Superman: Strength Issue #1

I really love the Clark and Lois relationship here, they're just so comfortable with each other. It's also nice to have a little more insight into Jonathan and seeing that he wasn't always perfect, just a man trying to be good. Also really loved Fido as a villain. Smart and clever, but not infallible. This issue tackled a lot, but it was all great.

Superman: Strength Issue #2

This issue was simply phenomenal. I love seeing how Superman's upbringing leads to him being the man he is, but it's rarely done this well. We even see a bit of how complex things could be, with ten year old Clark seeing that morality is not so black and white. The "answer" being the golden rule and having a moral code of promises not to break/lines not to cross is just so good. A great way to depict Superman. Even towards the guy that probably didn't deserve to be saved, he saved him anyway. That's not something many would do, but that's a choice he made as Superman. Lex Luthor is also great here, playing 4-D chess and having the one-up on Fido, even though Fido also came prepared. Also love seeing his narcissistic love of Metropolis. "Superman, fast! You're the only one who can do it!! Save my city!!" Such a revealing moment for Luthor, it's incredible. I wholeheartedly love this issue, probably my favorite Superman issue.

Superman: Strength Issue #3

The meaning of strength. I kind of suspected the story wasn't true. Poor Pollock though, he had it rough. Seeing Superman take everything thrown at him and then try to reach out to him, is the type of mercy at the core of the character.
