Shazam! Power of Hope

This was incredible. Alex Ross' art really makes the heroes seem so heroic. I love how Billy helps people both as Captain Marvel and himself. Even when giving so much was taking a toll on him, he continued to do so without much hesitation. And helping the other kids and feeling the connection with them led him to help himself, what a good moment where we learn that he's the one who needed that. I love that Billy continued to meet with Bobby. The power of hope: infectiously inspirational.

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
