Robin: Year One Issue #1

This was a fun story. Love Alfred’s and Bruce’s relationships with Dick. Just a wholesome family vibe. Also great to see Bruce written like an actual human, being a caregiver to Dick and treating him with warmth. The art style reminds me of Darwyn Cooke, which I found very endearing.

Robin: Year One Issue #2 

Great issue even better than the first. Two-Face has always been such a great villain and versatile, he was definitely a nice pick to show Robin the brutal reality of being a superhero.

Robin: Year One Issue #3

I didn’t expect this comic to be so heartwarming. Even this issue is touching despite being mostly bitter. It’s wonderful.

Robin: Year One Issue #4

Simply a good story about Robin, the Dynamic Duo, and Alfred.

X-Men vs The Brood

Issue #1 Interesting to see how the different Brood factions operate. One that just wants to kill all they can and propagate and one that seeks to protect the Queen and maintain a hierarchy. Hannah is a tragic character.  Issue #2 Decent special. I liked some of the writing like Wolverine being God’s strangest angel, but some of the religious elements felt too melodramatic when there could have been a real connection to the faith of the characters compared to the trials they were put through. Pretty good prose, rough dialogue.
